CRUISES

Your Voyage, Expertly Planned

At J. Upton Travel, we believe cruising isn’t just a vacation, it’s an experience. From the moment you dream of global ports and sunlit decks, we’re here to turn those dreams into reality. Whether you’re a seasoned cruiser or it’s your first time aboard, our mission is to ensure your sea journey is seamless, well-planned, and uniquely yours.

We begin by listening: your travel desires, style, priorities. Do you want immersive shore excursions? Relaxing spa days? Multi-destination port hops? From there, we map a cruise plan that fits you- the ideal ship, cabin class, itinerary, and timing. But we don’t stop at the cruise itself: we integrate pre/post hotel stays, transfers, excursions, and special touches so every leg of your journey flows seamlessly. You deserve not just to get away, but to arrive, explore, and return with lasting memories.

What we Do

Here’s how we make your cruise vacation effortless and exceptional:

Cruise travel planning services start at $250 for up to a 6 day cruise. For cruises of 7 days or more, the planning fee is $350. This includes assistance with all of the above.

YOUR QUESTIONS, ANSWERED

Frequently Asked Expertly Answered
How far in advance should I book a cruise?

For popular itineraries and peak seasons, we recommend booking 9–12 months in advance to secure the best cabins and fares. For more flexible travel, even 4–6 months ahead can work well.

What extra costs should I expect?

In addition to your cruise fare, be prepared for gratuities, specialty dining, shore excursions, onboard Wi-Fi, beverages (if not included), and tipping. We’ll estimate and help you budget all of it.

Can I customize shore excursions?

Absolutely! We can suggest off-the-beaten-path tours, private guides, or more active options tailored to your interests.

What happens if there’s a cancellation or itinerary change?

We monitor your cruise up to departure. If the cruise line changes schedule or cancels, we advocate for your interests—rebooking, compensation, or alternatives. Having the right travel protection in place adds extra security.

Do I need a passport or visa?

Yes — typically valid passports are required, and some countries may require visas or other entry permits. Requirements vary by nationality and port. We’ll inform you well in advance and help with the document prep.

How do I pay and when?

You’ll pay a trip planning fee for our services. To confirm your cruise, a deposit will be required, with final payment due per the cruise line’s timeline (often 90–120 days before sailing). We’ll guide you through secure payment and reminders so nothing is missed.

Can you help with solo travelers or solo cabins?

Definitely! We can help solo travelers find the best value, negotiate solo supplements when possible, or find compatible roommate options if you prefer company.
