You’ll likely have guests traveling across the country or even across the globe to celebrate your special day, but many of them may not be seasoned travelers. That’s when the endless questions start coming your way due to their confusion on how to book a room, the best airport transportation method, how to get to the hotel… the list goes on.

When working with J.Upton Travel, you don’t have to hear from your guests about travel-related questions. We serve as their main point-of-contact for any travels associated with your wedding. We’re here to provide them with guidance and advice each step of the way.

I’m not sure where I want to have my wedding—can you help me decide?

Absolutely! We’ll schedule a phone consultation to discuss your vision for the wedding, what’s most important to you, and your personal preferences. Based on this, we’ll recommend destinations that align with your style and needs, helping you find the perfect location for your celebration.

Do you help with planning the wedding itself?

As your travel advisor, we handle all the travel details. That means we handle communicating with your guests regarding room reservations, payments, keeping everyone’s flight information in order, and fixing problems if they come up. We will help you with contracting the hotel room block for your guests, and if you want to have your wedding onsite at the hotel, we’ll also help you with securing the event space.
Once the event space is booked, we will introduce you to the hotel’s wedding coordinator and they will help you with all things wedding as it pertains to the hotel. If you have hired a wedding planner, they will work with the hotel’s coordinator to plan your wedding.

What exactly will you help me and my guests with?

We’ll help you select the perfect destination and hotel for your wedding, and guide you through the process of securing the room block and event space. For your guests, we’ll assist with booking their rooms, arranging flights and transportation, making payments, answering questions, and providing support as needed to ensure everything goes smoothly.

Why do you charge a fee?

While some travel agencies may not charge a fee, they often work on a ‘quantity over quality’ model, focusing on resorts that offer the highest commissions and managing 50-100 weddings each year. At J.Upton Travel, we take a more personalized approach, working with a limited number of couples annually. This allows us to provide exceptional service, timely responses, and honest, tailored advice—ensuring you and your guests receive the attention you deserve.

Do you recommend travel insurance?

Yes, we highly recommend travel insurance to protect both you and your guests. We can provide your guests with quotes and help guide them through the process of selecting the coverage that best suits their needs.

Prior to starting J.Upton Travel, I owned and operated an event & wedding planning business for over a decade. I quite literally helped hundreds of couples plan and design their wedding in destinations domestically and internationally. And if that’s not enough, my husband and I also had a destination wedding in Mexico. So I 1000% understand how overwhelming it can be!
